What is executive coaching, and how does it differ from life coaching?

Executive coaching is a professional development process designed to help executives and leaders improve their performance and achieve their professional goals. Executive coaches work with individuals or groups to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for success in the workplace.

On the other hand, life coaching is a type of coaching focused on helping individuals improve their personal lives, relationships, and overall wellbeing. Life coaches work with clients to set and achieve personal goals, identify obstacles to success, and develop strategies to overcome them.

While there is some overlap in the skills and techniques used in both types of coaching, executive coaching tends to be more focused on career-related goals and improving job performance, while life coaching is more focused on personal growth and self-improvement.

How do I choose the right coach for me?

Choosing the right coach is an important decision, as you want to work with someone who is qualified and can help you achieve your goals. Here are some factors to consider when choosing a coach:

Qualifications and experience: Look for a coach who has relevant qualifications and experience in coaching, and ideally, experience in your specific area of interest. Consider their track record and client testimonials.

Coaching style: Different coaches have different coaching styles. Some may be more hands-on, while others take a more hands-off approach. Consider which style works best for you.

Availability and accessibility: Ensure that the coach you choose is available when you need them, and that their availability matches your schedule.

Personal fit: It's important that you feel comfortable and at ease with your coach, as coaching is a personal and often intimate process. You should feel that you can trust and confide in your coach.

Cost: Coaching can be expensive, so consider whether the cost is within your budget and whether the potential benefits outweigh the cost.

Overall, it's important to choose a coach who you feel comfortable with and who has the experience and expertise to help you achieve your goals. Don't be afraid to schedule a consultation call to get to know the coach better and ensure that they are a good fit for you.

How frequently do I meet with my coach, and for how long?

The specific frequency and duration of coaching sessions will depend on factors such as the individual's availability, the complexity of their goals, and the progress being made. Typically, we work with our clients to establish a coaching schedule that works best for the individual's needs.

As a general rule, we work with a monthly flat-fee which includes one structured coaching session per week (approximately 60 minutes) on a specific day, and on top of that you have access to messages, calls, or even additional short meetings on an ad-hoc basis.

It's important to note that coaching sessions are not one-size-fits-all, and may be adjusted over time depending on the individual's progress and changing needs. The length of a coaching engagement can vary depending on the individual and their goals.

Based on our initial chemistry session, we will make an estimate of the situation and recommend you the most suitable program for you.

What can I expect from a coaching session?

Coaching sessions are typically designed to be interactive and collaborative. During a coaching session, you can expect to engage in a dialogue with your coach, where you will discuss your goals, progress, and any obstacles that may be standing in your way.

Rick may ask you questions to help you clarify your thinking, identify patterns or behaviours that may be holding you back, and help you develop strategies for success. Rick may also offer insights and feedback based on his own experience and expertise.

You can expect to have an open and honest conversation with Rick. It's important to be honest with your coach about your goals, challenges, and concerns, as this will help us provide you with the best possible support.

After a coaching session, Rick typically gives you specific tasks or assignments to work on before your next session. These tasks may be designed to help you make progress towards your goals, build new skills, or reflect on your progress. It's important to take these tasks seriously and follow through on them, as they are an important part of the coaching process.

How can I measure the success of my coaching engagement?

The success of a coaching engagement can be measured in several ways, depending on your goals and objectives. Some common ways to measure the success of our coaching engagement are:

Goal achievement: If your coaching engagement was focused on achieving specific goals, success can be measured by whether or not those goals were achieved.

Progress and growth: Success can also be measured by the progress and growth that you've made during the coaching engagement, such as developing new skills, increasing self-awareness, or improving relationships.

Feedback and testimonials: Ask for feedback from others, such as colleagues or family members, who have noticed changes or improvements in your behaviour or performance.

Personal satisfaction: Ultimately, success is about achieving personal satisfaction and fulfilment.

It's important to remember that the success of a coaching engagement may not always be immediately apparent, and progress may be incremental. Together, we will make sure your coaching engagement will be a success.
